Moscow. November 23. INTERFAX - Russian President Vladimir Putin has submitted to the State Duma for ratification an agreement with Tajikistan on the creation of a joint regional air defense system of the two countries.
The document was published in the database of the lower house of the Russian parliament on Tuesday evening.
The agreement was signed in Dushanbe on April 27 this year. On the Russian side, as reported, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu participated in the negotiations in the capital of Tajikistan on the creation of a unified air defense.
The agreement is concluded for five years with further automatic extension for the next five years.
According to the text of the agreement, which was submitted by the head of state to the State Duma, the Joint Regional Air Defense System of the Russian Federation and Tajikistan is an integral part of the joint air defense system of the CIS member states. Coordination of joint actions of the forces of the newly created joint air defense system is carried out by the Commander-in-Chief of the VKS of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
The defense Ministries of the two countries plan joint use of the system's forces, joint combat duty, interaction, joint operational and combat training.
The Agreement comes into force from the date of receipt through diplomatic channels of the last written notification of the implementation of the ratification procedures by the Russian Federation and Tajikistan.
