The Roscosmos delegation headed by the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cooperation in Space, Director General of the state Corporation Dmitry Rogozin and the leadership of the Turkish Space Agency and the Ministry of Industry and Technology of Turkey discussed the preparation of an agreement between the governments of Russia and Turkey on cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes. This was reported on Tuesday in the press service of Roscosmos.
"The receiving party was headed by the head of the Turkish Space Agency Serdar Hussein Yildirim and the Minister of Industry and Technology of Turkey Mustafa Varank. The parties discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation and outlined practical steps to implement them. Separately, the partners focused on the preparation of an agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes," the message reads after the working visit of the Roscosmos delegation to Turkey.
The state corporation stressed that this document should become a contractual and legal basis for further joint work.

The working visit of the Roscosmos delegation and organizations of the rocket and space industry to Turkey took place from November 22 to 23. Earlier it was reported that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made the statement that Moscow offered Ankara to establish cooperation in the field of launching rockets into space.
