Moscow. November 22. INTERFAX - Reports about the allegedly impending military invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine can serve as a screen for Kiev's aggressive aspirations to solve the Donbass problem by force, according to the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
Asked to comment on publications in Western and Ukrainian media that Russia is preparing a military operation to invade the territory of Ukraine, Peskov said: "We see that there is a targeted information campaign, such stuffing."
According to Peskov, news agencies and some American newspapers are used for this.
"The escalation of tension is an attempt to present the Russian Federation as a party that threatens the settlement process. And, of course, it cannot be ruled out that this is camouflage to cover up aggressive thoughts that may take place in Kiev, meaning aggressive (thoughts) in terms of the desire to solve the problem of the south-east (of Ukraine) by force," the presidential press secretary said.
"Kiev itself is building up its forces, Kiev is being helped to build up its forces, Kiev is being supplied with a significant amount of weapons, including modern and high-tech. And all this, of course, we are watching with great concern," Peskov stressed.
