Bishkek. November 22. INTERFAX - Kyrgyzstan aims at the earliest possible registration of undescribed sites on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said on Monday following talks between the head of the department Ruslan Kazakbayev and his Tajik counterpart Sirodjiddin Mukhriddin.
"The Kyrgyz side aims to complete the legal registration of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border as soon as possible, which will have a positive impact on the entire complex of relations between the two countries," the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
According to her, special attention was paid to the issues of protecting the rights and interests of citizens of the two countries. In this vein, the Kyrgyz side proposed to hold consular consultations with the involvement of representatives of authorized bodies of the prosecutor's office, the penal enforcement system, border agencies, as well as to restore the practice of holding coordination meetings of authorized bodies of the two countries.
The parties agreed on the need to create operational working groups between the Prosecutor General's Offices, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other law enforcement agencies to resolve emerging issues on the protection of the rights and interests of citizens of the two countries as soon as possible.
In addition, Kazakbayev drew the attention of his Tajik counterpart to the need to continue active joint work to strengthen trust among the local population of the border regions of the two countries in order to ensure stability and security in the region.
"The parties expressed their firm intention to work together in order to further expand and deepen the historically established relations of friendship and good-neighborliness between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and resolve all disputed issues exclusively by political and diplomatic methods," the press service added.
