Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov thanked the United States for its assistance in the military sphere. He stated this during a meeting with the US Senate delegation at the Halifax International Security Forum on November 21.

"Real support and assistance cannot always be measured in money. Joint military exercises and the work of foreign military instructors in Ukraine, in addition to the supply of weapons and counteraction in the information space, allow for a cumulative effect," the NSDC press service quotes Danilov as saying.

He added that "by pulling troops to the Ukrainian border, Russia is trying to aggravate the security situation in the region as much as possible in order to raise the stakes at the table of future negotiations."

According to Danilov, Russia's recent actions, in particular the publication of diplomatic documents by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the media and the testing of the latest missile defense systems on its own satellites, allegedly "say that there are no rules for them anymore."

On November 15, American Congressman Mike Turner let slip about the presence of the United States military on the territory of Ukraine. He added that it is extremely important for Washington to provide the Ukrainian authorities with intelligence and lethal weapons.

On Sunday, November 14, it was reported that about 80 tons of ammunition were transferred to Ukraine by the United States. It is noted that these supplies are part of additional security assistance to Kiev, the total cost of which will be $ 60 million.

On October 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel the situation of concern in connection with the extension of the process of resolving the internal Ukrainian conflict. The three leaders noted the importance of implementing the Minsk Agreements of 2015 as an alternative basis for settlement. The interest in further coordination of the efforts of Russia, Germany and France in the Normandy format was also emphasized.
