Brussels. November 20. INTERFAX - Russia's current policy towards Ukraine and Moscow's statements cause genuine concern in Washington, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken told reporters on Saturday during a visit to Senegal.
"We have genuine concern about Russia's unusual military activity on the border with Ukraine. We have genuine concern about the rhetoric that we have seen and heard from Russia, as well as (observed - IF) on social networks," the Western media quoted the Secretary of State as saying.
He noted that Washington's concern is largely shared by its allies, but did not speculate about Moscow's plans for Ukraine.
"But we know what happened in the past. We know the style (of Russia - IF) with an attempt to point to an imaginary provocation of Ukraine or any other country and use it as an excuse for what Russia has been doing all this time," Blinken added.
Earlier this week, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at an expanded meeting of the board of the Russian Foreign Ministry that Moscow is concerned about the internal Ukrainian crisis and non-compliance with the Minsk agreements. According to the Russian president, there is "no alternative to the full implementation of the Minsk agreements."
