State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Nikolay Pankov on Saturday summed up the results of the seventh all-Army competition "Commander's Starts" and presented awards to the winners, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation told reporters.
"In 2013, 56 commanders took part in the competition, this year 120 commanders and chiefs competed as part of 10 teams," Pankov said.
The Deputy Minister clarified that generals who had undergone military operations also participated in the competition. Pankov also noted that the commanders participating in the competition are the face of the army and a model of a real Russian officer.
At the closing ceremony of the competition, the Deputy minister, on behalf of the head of the military department, Sergei Shoigu, presented a personal standard to the head of the Department of physical training and Sports.
According to the Ministry of Defense, according to the results of all five types of "Commander's starts-2021", the winners were the Airborne troops, scoring a total of 159 points. With the second result, the tournament was completed by the ZVO team with 123 points. The winners of the bronze awards were the VKS team - 114 points.
The competition was attended by teams from all military districts and the Northern Fleet, as well as teams of types and types of troops.
