Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
According to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the dialogue took place on the initiative of the Turkish side. The main topic of the conversation was the situation in Ukraine.
"The situation in the region was discussed in detail, with an emphasis on the situation in Ukraine. The Russian side stressed that Kiev's policy of escalating tensions in the south-east of the country, encouraged by Western partners, threatens to dangerously destabilize the situation," the statement said.
Moscow also called on the Turkish side to take as seriously as possible "our concerns" regarding Turkish-Ukrainian cooperation in the field of military-technical cooperation, "contributing, among other things, to the further militarization of Ukraine."
