Tallinn. November 20. INTERFAX - Seven Estonian citizens are among the candidates for cosmonauts of the European Space Agency (ESA), Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology Andres Sutt said on Saturday.
"Next year ESA will select 4-5 new cosmonauts and 15 reservists. There are seven Estonians among the candidates," he told the portal on Saturday rus.postimees.ee Summing up the results of the ESA ministers' meeting held in Porto on Friday.
According to him, Estonia's space policy and program until 2027 define three main areas: cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and innovation.
"Estonia can share with ESA its skills in the development of public electronic services and, thus, help bring space technologies closer to people," said Syutt.
