WASHINGTON, Nov 20 - RIA Novosti. The United States will do everything possible to prevent the terrorist group IG * from restoring its power in Iraq and intend to provide maximum support to the government of the Arab country for this purpose, Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin said on Saturday.
"We are still concerned about ISIS*, and the Iraqi government is concerned about ISIS*. We will do everything possible to support the Government of Iraq in preventing the restoration of the power of this group," Austin said, speaking at the Manama Dialogue International conference on regional Security held annually in Bahrain.
According to the head of the US Defense Department, Washington in 2022 intends to focus more on the efforts of its military in this country on the training of the Iraqi armed forces.
"I would like to remind you that we are in Iraq at the invitation of the Iraqi side. Excellent cooperation has been established between our countries," Austin stressed.
