MOSCOW, Nov 18 - RIA Novosti. The British Express portal published an article comparing the military might of Moscow and London.
It is noteworthy that the forces of the kingdom were called the "British army" in the title of the material, while the Russian military was united under the surname Putin.
The publication compared the number of military equipment and personnel of the armed forces based on the Global Firepower rating. The Russian army was ahead on almost all points. The authors of the article called these data shocking. The portal admitted that the Russians "significantly bypassed" the British Armed Forces, but noted that London can "boast" of two aircraft carriers — according to the material, it had one more than Moscow.
Netizens, in turn, said in the comments that they were surprised by such a comparison.
"Why does Russia need all these military technologies? If she suddenly needs to conquer Britain, there will be enough boats with jet skis," one of them sneered.
"Why talk about any conflict at all? Compared to Russia, we are nothing. Let's cooperate with powerful countries, not fight with them. Building bridges, I think, is much better than burning them," another urged.
"Do not get involved in a fight where there is no chance of winning," they advised in the comments.
"As a former serviceman, I can say that we objectively do not have soldiers in such quantity and of such quality to bother Russia in any way," the reader of the portal admitted.
The British military began to be discussed in the media after the Mirror newspaper, citing sources, reported on the country's readiness to transfer up to 600 special forces to Ukraine due to concerns about the "impending invasion" of Russia. Moscow, in turn, recalled that it is not a party to the internal Ukrainian conflict and does not intend to violate the sovereignty of other countries. President Vladimir Putin called the statements about the preparation of the attack "alarmist".
