Moscow. November 18. INTERFAX - Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia does not need conflicts on the western borders of the country, called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to seek serious and long-term guarantees of security in this area.
Speaking at the board of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, the President of the Russian Federation noted that Russia's recent warnings to the West have a certain effect.
"A certain tension has arisen there after all. And in this regard, I see two points here. Firstly, it is necessary that they maintain this state as much as possible, so that it does not occur to them to arrange some conflict on our western borders that we do not need, and we do not need conflicts," Putin said.
"And secondly, it is necessary to raise the question, Sergey Viktorovich (Lavrov), to seek to provide Russia with serious long-term guarantees to ensure our security in this area," he added.
According to him, Russia cannot just exist and think what might happen there tomorrow.
