The head of the Kabul Emergency Management Department, Mirwais Watanmal, thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as the Russian Defense Ministry and its head, Army General Sergei Shoigu, for the humanitarian aid delivered, also telling reporters how it would be distributed.
He specified that the population of Kabul is 6-7 million people and many of its residents will need help. If we talk not only about Kabul, he added, then in the regions of Afghanistan people will have problems in the winter due to the coming cold weather, and residents of the country also need food and medicines. The remaining humanitarian aid will be distributed among poor families, flour and sunflower oil will be distributed among the most needy.
"We are very happy and looking forward to new assistance, as I spoke with the Deputy Ambassador of Russia in Kabul, new assistance from a friendly country of Russia," Vatanmal also added.
