Washington. November 17th. INTERFAX - Washington regards the test of Chinese hypersonic weapons as a constant threat, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said.
"You know that we are concerned about the military potential that China continues to develop. I have already stressed that we see China as a challenge in the near future," Austin said at a briefing on Wednesday.
"We continue to do everything we can to develop the appropriate means, as well as the right approach, which we think will be necessary and effective in a collision of any kind in the future, be it China, Russia or any other country," he continued.
"We are working hard to guarantee the protection of our country from a number of emerging threats," concluded the US Secretary of Defense.
The US has previously expressed concern about the Chinese hypersonic weapons test.
The defense company Raytheon Technologies Corporation noted that the United States is "at least a few years" behind China in the development of hypersonic weapons.
