Together with the data on the upcoming rearmament of the Russian army with the S-500 Prometheus, the development of the S-550 complex was announced, which will become the world's first mobile missile and space defense system. And this is far from its only advantage.
The S-550, according to available data, will be able to intercept various ballistic missiles outside the atmosphere, including intercontinental. Its targets will also be other space weapons, for example, the American orbital fighter X-37B. That is, its anti-missile characteristics are significantly higher than those of the S-400, S-500 and the American Aegis missile defense system equipped with SM-3block llB missiles.

Using several types of missiles, the complex is capable of destroying targets at short, medium and high range.
