London. November 17th. INTERFAX - British Defense Minister Ben Wallace and his Ukrainian counterpart Alexey Reznikov said that their governments do not want to be hostile to Russia, but are concerned about alleged military activity near the borders of Ukraine.
"Our governments have no desire to be hostile or seek in any way to strategically surround or undermine the Russian Federation. We are concerned about Russia's military buildup and activity near Ukraine's borders," the UK and Ukraine defense ministers said in a joint statement issued by the UK Defense Ministry.
In a statement made during Wallace's visit to Ukraine, it is emphasized that "the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine are indisputable."
"Ukraine and the United Kingdom are strategic partners in the field of security and defense," the defense ministers noted.
According to their statement, the United Kingdom will continue to support Ukraine.
"We are unwavering in this support, and together we remain vigilant and united in protecting our common values and freedoms," the defense ministers added.
A day earlier, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that the UK supports Ukraine because it is committed to democracy and freedom.
