Britain is ready to send up to 600 troops to Ukraine in case of an "invasion" by Russia. The British newspaper The Mirror writes about this on November 13.
According to the source of the publication, London is creating units consisting of members of the special forces, a special reconnaissance regiment, medics, engineers, signalmen and up to 400 paratroopers from the 16th Airborne Assault Brigade based in Aldershot.
"The High Readiness unit was told that it might need to be deployed in a very short time. From 400 to 600 soldiers are ready. All the equipment is packed, they are ready to fly to Ukraine and land from the air," the source told the publication.
In addition, the source added that the decision to prepare was made after senior British military officials and the head of MI6, Richard Moore, informed the country's government about the "clear and real danger" of Russian President Vladimir Putin for Ukraine and the West.
On November 11, Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that representatives of the administration of the President of the United States Joe Biden voiced concerns at a briefing about Russia's possible preparations for an invasion of Ukraine. The United States discussed possible plans of the Russian Federation after the appearance of "secret information", which is owned only by the States.
At the same time, as the agency noted, Russia does not intend to start a war with Ukraine now, but allegedly must show readiness to use force if necessary.
After the publication data appeared, Dmitry Polyansky, the first deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, denied information about the alleged invasion plans. He stressed that Russia has never planned an attack on Ukraine and does not plan to.
Peskov also said that the Bloomberg material is an empty, groundless escalation of tension. According to him, provocative actions are becoming more and more at the moment. The Kremlin spokesman stressed that this cannot leave Russia indifferent to what is happening.
In turn, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that statements that Russia is allegedly preparing an invasion of Ukraine are alarmist.
