DUBAI (UAE), Nov 14 - RIA Novosti. The contract for the supply of the second regiment of the S-400 air defense system to Turkey has not yet been signed, but work with Ankara on military-technical cooperation is developing, Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheev told reporters on the first day of the Dubai Airshow 2021 in the United Arab Emirates.
"Rosoboronexport is developing cooperation with Turkey in the field of military-technical cooperation. We are also discussing various projects in the format of industrial partnership. We are ready to implement a wide range of relations both in the interests of the country's air defense and other types of armed forces," Mikheev said, answering the question whether a contract has been signed for the supply of the second S-400 regiment.
At the same time, he recalled that Rosoboronexport fulfilled the first contract for the supply of the S-400 Triumph air defense system without complaints from the Turkish side and ahead of the deadlines stipulated in the contract. "I am sure that when agreements on other contracts are finally reached, the Turkish side will announce them if necessary," Mikheev said.
Russia and Turkey signed a contract for the supply of four divisions of the S-400 air defense system in the amount of $ 2.5 billion in 2017, deliveries to the Turkish side were made in the summer-autumn of 2019. The contract included an option for another regimental set. At the end of August 2021, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said he had no doubt about buying a second S-400 regiment from Russia. Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheev, in turn, reported that the contract for the second regiment will be signed in 2021.
