Dubai. November 14th. INTERFAX - Russia is ready to supply S-400 air defense systems to Belarus, there has not been an official application yet, Dmitry Shugaev, head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) of the Russian Federation, told Interfax.
"There will be an application - we will supply. Are we not going to deliver the S-400 to the Union state? But there are no applications yet. As soon as we receive it, we will consider it," Shugaev said at the Dubai Airshow-2021.
"The military-technical cooperation with Belarus is conducted on an ongoing planned basis," he stressed.
"There are a lot of relationships through a direct agreement on military-technical cooperation on a license basis directly with manufacturing enterprises," Shugaev said.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said on September 1 that Russia will soon supply dozens of planes, helicopters, air defense systems to the republic, including, possibly, S-400.
On September 3, Shugaev, answering a question from Interfax in Vladivostok, said that he saw no obstacles to the supply of S-400 systems to Belarus.
Earlier, at the Army-2021 forum near Moscow, Shugaev said that the issue of supplying Belarus with the S-400 has not yet passed into the practical plane. "I haven't moved into practice yet, but with such a fraternal country as Belarus, we naturally see no reason to be cool about it," he said.
"If the Belarusian side receives a request for the S-400 system, for the Pantsiri-S1, in accordance with the established procedure, it will be worked out in a short time," Shugaev said.
On January 14, Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of Belarus Igor Golub announced that the Republic of Belarus plans to conclude a contract with Russia for the supply of S-400 systems and Pantsir-S complexes.
