Dubai. November 14th. INTERFAX - Russia is ready to continue cooperation with Turkish partners on the S-400 Triumph air defense systems, decisions are made jointly by the parties, said Alexander Mikheev, head of Rosoboronexport.
Rosoboronexport is ready to develop relations with Turkey, including to continue cooperation on the S-400 Triumph long-range air defense system," Mikheev told reporters, answering a question about the timing of signing a contract for an additional batch of S-400 and possible technology transfer.
"We make all decisions with our partner jointly and are based on intergovernmental agreements of the parties and obligations under the contract," the head of Rosoboronexport stressed.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters on August 29 that Ankara is ready to purchase a second regiment of S-400 air defense systems from Russia.
"We have no doubt that we will buy a second S-400 regiment in Russia," Erdogan said at the time.
August 25, Head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS of Russia) Dmitry Shugaev said that negotiations with Turkey on a new contract for the S-400 are in the final stage.
"Negotiations with the Turkish side are at the final stage. We expect to complete the coordination of all issues in the near future," Shugaev told reporters at the Army 2021 forum.
Earlier in the day, the head of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, said that a contract for the supply of an additional batch of S-400 to Turkey could be signed this year.
As Interfax reported, Turkey bought four S-400 divisions from Russia worth $2.5 billion.
