MOSCOW, Nov 12 - RIA Novosti. NATO is actively and aggressively operating near the borders of the Russian Federation, Moscow will take measures to ensure its security and hedge risks, Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
So he commented on the publication of the Bloomberg agency that the United States is warning Europe that Russia may be planning an invasion of Ukraine. Peskov noted that this is not the first publication and not the first statement by the United States that they are concerned about the movements of the armed forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Russian Federation. The press secretary of the head of state drew attention to the fact that it was repeatedly answered that the movement of the Russian armed forces on the territory of the Russian Federation should not cause anyone concern. He stressed that Russia does not pose a threat to anyone, develops in its own way and deals with its own affairs.
"If necessary, we take measures to ensure our security if any provocative actions of our opponents occur near our borders. Well, speaking of opponents, I (I mean - Ed.), first of all, NATO and NATO forces, which are very, very active and assertive in the immediate vicinity of our borders, whether it's air, whether it's water or whether it's land. Such headlines are nothing but an empty, groundless escalation of tension. Russia poses no threat to anyone," Peskov told reporters.
Answering a question about whether the Kremlin comes to the conclusion that there is more escalation, Peskov noted that there are more "provocative actions", recalled the situation in the Black Sea, noted the active intelligence activity from the air of NATO aircraft, reconnaissance aircraft, including American ones.
"All this, of course, cannot leave us indifferent to what is happening. We have to be on our guard. They're not our friends, are they? It's not Belarusian planes flying, our allies, right? These are the planes of those who declare deterrence and counteraction to the Russian Federation as their main goal, and those who call the Russian Federation an enemy, well, accordingly, we must somehow insure ourselves and hedge risks, which we are doing," he said.
"Yes, they follow every day," Peskov added, answering the question whether reciprocal statements from the Russian side should follow.
