In connection with the situation in Afghanistan, Kazakhstan will provide gratuitous military-technical assistance to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
Such bills were approved by the Majilis (Parliament) during the plenary session Kazakhstan, reports Vlast.kz .
Within the framework of the draft laws "On ratification of the Agreement between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan on the provision of gratuitous military-technical assistance" and "On ratification of the Agreement between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan on the provision of military-technical assistance in ensuring security in the Adjacent areas of the Tajik-Afghan border", Kazakhstan will transfer military equipment by rail from the Otar station of the Zhambyl region to the city of Dushanbe.
"The transfer of military property to the Republic of Tajikistan does not affect the state of combat readiness and defense capability of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as assistance is provided from the excess reserves of the current allowance of the armed forces of the Republic," Deputy Defense Minister of Kazakhstan Ruslan Shpekbayev assured.
He stressed that the provision of military-technical assistance to partner countries is a very important issue.
"Due to the current security situation in the adjacent areas of the Tajik-Afghan border, as well as due to the growing challenges and threats to regional security, the provision of military and technical assistance will strengthen the capabilities of the armed forces of the Republic of Tajikistan to repel these threats and strengthen the security of the Central Asian region," Shpekbayev said.
