TSAMTO, November 10. The defense ministers of the CIS member states approved a plan of joint activities for 2022 and identified prospects for the development of military cooperation, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"Prospects for further development of military cooperation have been identified and a plan of joint activities for 2022 has been approved," Shoigu said following a meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS member states.
In addition, according to him, the defense departments of the Commonwealth countries during the meeting confirmed a common understanding of the nature of challenges and threats to military security.
The event was attended by delegations of the defense departments of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as the CIS Executive Committee and the Secretariat of the CIS Council of Defense Ministers, the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
