Moscow. November 10th. INTERFAX - The secretaries of the Security Councils of the Russian Federation, India, Iran and a number of other countries discussed Afghanistan, noted the need to combat terrorism in the region, the Russian Security Council said.
"Representatives of India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took part in the consultations. The participants discussed the current situation in Afghanistan, especially in the field of security, its regional and global consequences," the press service of the Security Council of the Russian Federation reported.
As reported, the Russian Federation is represented at the negotiations by the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev.
"During the consultations, the National Security advisers and the Secretaries of the Security Council reiterated their strong support for a peaceful, secure and stable Afghanistan, while emphasizing respect for its sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, as well as non-interference in its internal affairs," the statement said.
It notes that during the negotiations, the parties condemned the terrorist attacks in various provinces and cities of Afghanistan.
"They stressed that the territory of Afghanistan should not be used for hiding and training terrorists, as well as for planning or financing terrorist acts," the Security Council said.
As stated in the press service, the national security advisers stressed the need to form an open and truly inclusive government representing the will of the entire people of Afghanistan, which will include representatives of all major ethno-political forces.
