The Pantsir-S and Buk-M2 anti-aircraft systems in service with the Syrian army shot down six of the eight Israeli missiles. Two Syrian soldiers were injured.
"On November 8, from 20:16 to 20:23, six F-15 tactical fighters of the Israeli Air Force, violating the SAR state border from Northern Lebanon, struck eight guided missiles at the logistics facilities of the SAR government forces in the province of Homs," said Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the warring Parties in the SAR.
The Russian-made Buk-M2 and Pantsir-S complexes participated in the repulse of the airstrike, which hit 75 percent of the means of air attack. Minor material damage was caused to the objects.
It should be noted that in January last year, the Pantsir-S complexes were upgraded to combat inconspicuous drones and barrage ammunition. This was reported to TASS by the chief designer of the SAM Valery Slugin.
"We have adapted the location tools for the detection and accurate tracking of inconspicuous targets. There is no homing head on our new rocket, only the striking part. If we already see the target by the radar station of the combat vehicle, we are guaranteed to undermine the warhead on the route of the drone, and the field of fragments will reliably cover it," the designer said.
