TSAMTO, November 10. The export contract for the supply of sights for the Kornet anti-tank missile system has been completed ahead of schedule, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the first deputy General Director of TSNIITOCHMASH (part of Rostec Group) Sergey Loginov.
"The Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering has prematurely completed the execution of the 2021 contract for the manufacture and supply of an export version of the sight-guidance devices for the Kornet ATGM," S. Loginov said.
The sight-device for the "Cornet" was developed back in the 1990s, and its export version was first demonstrated in 1994. The device is designed to search, detect and recognize a target, guide, launch and control a missile in day and night conditions at distances up to 5.5 km, the agency notes.
