The Verkhovna Rada dismissed Andrei Taran, who held the post of head of the country's defense Ministry. The decision was made at a meeting on November 3, it was supported by 341 parliamentarians with the required minimum of 226 votes.
A day earlier, Taran submitted his resignation to the rada. At the same time, journalists, citing sources, wrote that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had agreed on a candidate for the post of Defense Minister, he should become Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for the Reintegration of temporarily occupied Territories of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov.
Reznikov was also dismissed from his post on November 3.
On March 4, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation approved Taran as the Minister of Defense of Ukraine in the government of Denis Shmygal. His candidacy was proposed by Zelensky and supported by 285 votes of deputies with 226 required.
In addition, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dismissed Alexey Lyubchenko from the post of First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy. Lyubchenko has held this position since May 20, 2021. The rada also dismissed Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Strategic Industries Oleg Urusky.
