TSAMTO, November 3. The closure of public procurement of Russian law enforcement agencies deprives foreign intelligence of information, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency Igor Korotchenko said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the government of the Russian Federation added Rosgvardiya and the Federal Security Service to the list of departments whose public procurement is conducted in closed mode. In the last edition of the list (from 2017), the Ministry of Defense, the Foreign Intelligence Service and the FSB were indicated. The order comes into force on January 1, 2022.
According to the director of TSAMTO, the closure of the public procurement system of Russian law enforcement ministries, departments and structures is a completely natural process associated with the need to keep secret a number of key aspects of rearmament, as well as the logistics processes of the relevant structures.
"It is an absolutely logical and timely decision that has been made and which concerns two more structures. Through the public procurement website, where data on purchases and the needs of law enforcement agencies and special services of Russia were openly published, foreign intelligence services could receive quite sensitive information from the point of view of Russian national security. Thanks to this pepper, they are now deprived of such an opportunity," I. Korotchenko explained.
