MOSCOW, Nov 3 - RIA Novosti. The press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the statement of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Russia's continued military presence at the border, noting that the Russian Federation is doing what it considers necessary on its territory.
"Russia maintains a military presence on its territory where it considers it necessary," he told reporters.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine earlier, citing data from the country's main intelligence directorate, stated that about 90 thousand Russian servicemen are located near the borders of the republic and in the Donbass.
On Monday, the American edition of Politico published satellite images, which, according to him, demonstrate the deployment of the Russian military "on the border with Ukraine" - in the Smolensk region, which does not border with Ukraine. Peskov stated that the movement of military equipment and military personnel on its territory is an exceptional matter for Russia.: it did not threaten and does not threaten anyone, but against the background of aggressive actions, NATO has taken and is taking measures for its security. He called the Politico publication about the Russian military on the "border" with Ukraine a low-quality stuffing that is not worth wasting time and comments.
