The American edition of Politico has published satellite images that allegedly demonstrate "the buildup of Russia's power near the borders of Ukraine."
"New commercial satellite photos taken on Monday confirm recent reports that Russia is again massively deploying military and equipment on the border with Ukraine," the newspaper writes.
The article claims that military units, "including the elite 1st Guards Tank Army," "began moving at the end of September from other regions of Russia where they are usually based."
The publication writes that the photographs confirming this were taken in the area of the city of Yelnya, Smolensk region.
However, Yelnya is in reality separated from the Ukrainian borders by the territory of the Bryansk region. The locality mentioned in the article borders with Belarus.
On the air of Sputnik radio, Pavel Tarusin, a political scientist, lecturer at the Faculty of Public Administration of Moscow State University, noted that the American media had once again got into a puddle.
