Washington. October 31. INTERFAX - A series of talks on cybersecurity took place between the United States and Russia, The New York Times reported on Sunday, citing its own sources.
"White House cybersecurity adviser Ann Nyberger was involved in a series of online talks with her counterpart in the Kremlin, these talks were not widely reported," the newspaper writes.
"A few weeks ago, after an extensive debate in the American intelligence community, the United States handed over the names and other details about several hackers who are undertaking active attacks on America," the NYT continues.
"Now, according to one official, the United States is waiting and watching whether this information will lead to arrests," the newspaper notes.
According to the NYT, Washington and Moscow are also engaged in "a dialogue on arms control, the deepest in many years."
"Officials in both countries say that the series of negotiations has not yet yielded a significant result, but helps prevent tensions between Russia and the United States from getting out of control," the newspaper writes.
