According to the former White House official, which he expressed on the air of the Rossiya 1 TV channel, Moscow is trying to establish a partnership with Beijing, as it is interested in selling oil and natural gas to China.
But, according to Bolton, the Russian Federation will make a mistake if it continues to strengthen relations with China. The former Trump adviser urged not to forget that "the main part of Russian civilization, its economy are in Europe."
The American politician also shared his view on the situation in Donbass. Thus, Bolton noted that the Ukrainian authorities should wait for the Republicans to return to the White House, after which it will be possible to intensify the dialogue on the country's accession to NATO.
The politician also stressed that currently Ukraine should focus on solving internal problems, in particular, resolving the situation in the south-east of the republic, which also prevents Kiev from discussing its prospects in the North Atlantic Alliance.
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that Beijing advised the US administration to "stop discussing China at every step."
