MOSCOW, Oct 28 - RIA Novosti. Russia and ASEAN intend to exchange information on terrorist groups, potential attacks and threats, according to the comprehensive action plan for the implementation of the strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
"To exchange information about terrorist groups, including, if necessary, through the voluntary use of the International Counterterrorism Database under the leadership of the FSB of Russia and its communication channels, as well as information about potential attacks and threats, including possible acts with the use of chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear weapons," the message says.
In addition, according to the document, the Russian Federation and ASEAN intend to strengthen coordination and cooperation in the fight against terrorism and transnational crime, as well as strengthen international cooperation in the fight against terrorism in accordance with the UN Charter, thematic resolutions of the UN Security Council and the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy.
"To encourage cooperation through interfaith and intercultural dialogue, as well as to promote respect, tolerance and moderation, strengthen social cohesion of the peoples of Russia and ASEAN by introducing a culture of peace in order to combat terrorism and eliminate conditions leading to the spread of terrorism," the message adds.
In addition, the Russian Federation and ASEAN intend to continue cooperation in the fight against the cultivation, production, manufacture and trafficking of illicit drugs, drug-related crimes.
"To support ASEAN in building up its capacity to respond to threats arising from the use of ICT," the message adds.
