On October 25, Russian senator from Crimea Sergey Tsekov criticized the words of the adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich that Kiev could send missiles towards Moscow in the future.
"Of course, it's more of a self-promotion. It is necessary to make a loud statement so that attention is paid to it, so that it is appreciated. He understands that he will definitely be negatively evaluated outside of Ukraine. Not only in Russia. I think there are other countries that sensibly understand what a possible attack by Ukraine in the direction of Russia is.: not only Moscow, but also in relation to any other city," the senator told RT.
A day earlier, Arestovich said that because of Russia's actions, Ukraine could aim missiles at Moscow as a parity.
On October 24, Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Voloshin commented on the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin about the possibility of the appearance of American missiles in Ukraine, calling the current situation a Caribbean crisis "on the contrary." He believes that Russia is being pushed to launch a preemptive strike and move its border.
On October 22, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Russia should not be afraid of Ukraine joining the North Atlantic Alliance, since NATO is a defensive alliance.
The day before, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko pointed out that any step on the issue of Ukraine's membership in NATO would entail consequences. He is convinced that Kiev's entry into the alliance would be an extremely dangerous step that would force Russia to react.
Earlier, on October 18, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that Ukraine's accession to NATO is the worst-case scenario, as it goes beyond the red lines of Russia's national interests. He also stressed that such a scenario could force Moscow to take active measures to ensure security.
On June 1, Kiev created a structural unit for the integration of Ukraine into the European Union and NATO. According to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Ermak, the country is interested in developing equal and mutually beneficial cooperation with its partners in international relations.
