TSAMTO, October 25. One of the enterprises of the Goskomvoenprom system of the Republic of Belarus continues to develop a radar of the Rodnik family designed to detect low-altitude aerial targets.
In particular, experimental design work is currently underway to create a three-coordinate X-band radar station for detecting low-altitude air objects "Rodnik-3D".
The promising development is based on the basis of the two-coordinate radar "Rodnik", which has already been tested during numerous tests and has proven itself positively.
Both two- and three-coordinate radars of the Rodnik family provide detection, determination of coordinates and motion parameters of low-altitude aerial objects. The technological solutions used in the development of radars of this family make it possible to provide automatic recognition of target classes and tracking of their routes in specified zones. In addition, the radars of the Rodnik family have protection against active and passive interference.
The use of a radar of this class is becoming particularly relevant, taking into account the tactics of using small-sized and low-altitude means of air attack, in particular, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), in the armed conflicts of recent years.
The advantages of the radars of the Rodnik family are not only the use of modern technological solutions, but also increased mobility and survivability due to the placement of radar equipment on an automobile chassis and minimal deployment time.
In addition, an important advantage of the radars of the Rodnik family is the possibility of integration with the means of electronic warfare against UAVs, also produced by the enterprise, which makes it possible to expand the possibilities of their joint use to increase the effectiveness of target detection, including UAVs performing tasks along a predetermined route without direct operator control.
One of the products of the Rodnik family has been successfully tested at the training ground during the operational and tactical exercises of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus with live firing, held this year in the Astrakhan region (Russian Federation).
