TASS, October 25. The International Astronautical Congress opens on October 25 in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), the event is being held in an Arab country for the first time. Roscosmos will present its exposition at the congress, where visitors will be able to see a new model of the multifunctional laboratory module "Science", a model of the orbital complex "Zeus" and the transport and energy module "TEM".
The 72nd International Astronautical Congress will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center from October 25 to 29 under the auspices of the International Federation of Astronautics. The event will be attended by heads of space agencies from different countries, representatives of the space industry, equipment manufacturers and scientists specializing in space-related issues. Experts will present their achievements and discuss plans for future space exploration missions.
The Russian delegation will be headed by the Director General of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin. He will take part in the plenary session of the heads of space agencies and hold talks with the leadership of leading foreign space agencies and organizations.
Initially, the congress in Dubai was supposed to be held in 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was held in an online format, and the event in the UAE had to be postponed to 2021. Annual international congresses of astronautics have been held since 1950, but they have never been held in Arab countries.
