Large-scale operational and strategic exercises of the collective forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) The "Combat Brotherhood - 2021", which ended on Saturday in Tajikistan, showed the whole world the unity of views of the member states on the existing challenges and threats. This opinion was expressed on Saturday by the former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, the head of the State Duma Committee on Defense Andrey Kartapolov.
"The past exercises demonstrated a high level of interaction between the military contingents of the CSTO member states, the coherence of management bodies and units, the achievement of interoperability of forces and means, and also showed the whole world the unity of views of the CSTO member states on existing challenges and threats," Kartapolov believes, quoted by the press service of the committee.
"The exercises were held at a high professional level and contributed to the strengthening of the combat community," he added.
The Chairman of the Defense Committee visited as an observer the joint exercises with the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (CSR) of the CSTO "Interaction - 2021" in Tajikistan for the purpose of parliamentary monitoring of the military-political situation in the Central Asian region. "During the visit, representatives of the coordination meeting of the chairmen of the committees (commissions) on defense and security of the parliaments of the CSTO states under the Council of the CSTO PA met with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan. The parliamentarians also got acquainted with the equipment and weapons of the personnel of the collective rapid reaction forces of the CSTO," the press service of the Defense Committee reported.
On October 18, 2021, special exercises "Echelon - 2021", "Search - 2021" and the joint exercise "Interaction - 2021" began at the range of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan "Harb-Maydon" within the framework of the joint operational and strategic exercises of the CSTO "Combat Brotherhood - 2021". The servicemen of Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan practiced joint actions to repel the attack of conditional terrorists. In total, 4,000 people and more than 500 pieces of equipment were involved in the exercises.
