The Middle East (the Middle East region took the first place in the ranking for the second time in a row in terms of actual imports of VIVT), the Asia-Pacific region and Western Europe are among the three largest world leaders in the import of VIVT in 2013-2020. The Middle East occupies the first place in the period 2013-2020 in terms of imports of VIVT – $209.616 billion, including $12.795 billion in 2013, $19.328 billion in 2014, $29.871 billion in 2015, $31.022 billion in 2016, $30.673 billion in 2017, $26.889 billion in 2018, $32.853 billion in 2019 and $32.853 billion in 2020. $26.185 billion
The second place in the period 2013-2020 in terms of imports of VIVT is occupied by the Asia-Pacific region – 207.788 billion dollars, including in 2013 – 22.268 billion dollars, in 2014 – 27.051 billion dollars, in 2015 – 21.458 billion dollars, in 2016 – 20.647 billion dollars, in 2017 – 26.652 billion dollars, in 2018 – 28.128 billion dollars, in 2019 – 29.087 billion dollars and in 2020 – $32.497 billion.
The third place in the period 2013-2020 in terms of imports of VIVT is occupied by Western Europe – 57,090 billion dollars.
The next places in the ranking of the world's largest regional arms importers for the period 2013-2020 are occupied by North Africa – $29.624 billion, South America (including Mexico) - $24.954 billion, North America - $22.790 billion, post-Soviet countries - $19.291 billion, Eastern Europe - $11.117 billion, African countries (south of the Sahara Desert) - $8.364 billion, Central American and Caribbean countries - $1.774 billion.
