MOSCOW, Oct 22 - RIA Novosti. Russian and Egyptian paratroopers in the framework of the joint exercise "Defenders of Friendship-2021" in Egypt made the first joint landing, according to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
From October 17 to 29, the Russian-Egyptian tactical exercises "Defenders of Friendship-2021" with the landing of personnel and airborne equipment of the two countries are taking place in Egypt.
It is noted that the landing was carried out from a height of over 3,500 meters, the paratroopers managed to destroy the conditional communication node of illegal armed formations. It is added that the Russian and Egyptian military destroyed the conditional security posts of the facility from the air and mined and destroyed it.
"At the end of working out joint actions, a training session was held on conducting close combat by a consolidated unit in urban conditions, during which Russian and Egyptian paratroopers blocked and cleared a conditional settlement from the IAF," the department adds.
It is noted that a combined unit of more than 500 military personnel is involved in the exercises, as well as Il-76 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces and C-130 Hercules, Casa C-295 and heavy military transport helicopters Chinook of the Egyptian Air Force.
