Moscow. October 21. INTERFAX - The Shvabe Holding Research Institute (SRI) and Shenzhen Kaifa Technology have signed a memorandum of cooperation that defines the procedure for localization of the Chinese company's production in Russia.
"The document provides for the full localization of the production of smart electricity meters in Russia," Shvabe said in a statement issued on Thursday.
According to the press service of the holding, the cooperation was organized by the Chinese-Russian innovation park "Silk Road", which provides support for mutual technology transfer projects between the two countries. The memorandum was signed by Evgeny Kuznetsov, General Director of the M.F. Stelmakh Polyus Research Institute, and Zhang Senhui, head of Shenzhen Kaifa Technology.
Kuznetsov noted that "the interaction is aimed at increasing the volume of modern electricity meters on the Russian market due to increased demand." "The first step of this joint work will be the adaptation of the partner's technical solutions to Russian standards, the second will be the localization of production on the basis of our enterprise," Kuznetsov said, quoted by the Shvabe press service.
"The demand for smart electricity meters was formed in 2020 after the entry into force of the document on the modernization of the Russian energy industry. This step involves replacing old meters with new, "smart" devices, the key difference of which is the remote transmission of readings," the press release says.
