A delegation of the Taliban movement (banned in the Russian Federation) arrived in the capital of Russia from Kabul for the third meeting of the "Moscow format" on Afghanistan.
The consultations will be held at the President Hotel, the Islamist delegation is headed by Deputy Chairman of the Interim Government of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, it also includes several ministers, including Foreign Minister Ahmadullah Muttaki.
The Taliban entered the hotel building without answering questions from the press.
The Taliban sent a group of 130 militants to the Shahribuzurg district of the Afghan province of Badakhshan. This is reported by the Asia Plus news agency with reference to sources, writes Eadaily.
Shakhribuzurg borders Shamsiddin Shokhin district of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) of Tajikistan.
According to the Taliban representative, the group is aimed at strengthening border control on the border with Tajikistan.
Sources in Tajikistan and Afghanistan claim that militants of the Ansorullah group (the organization is banned in the Russian Federation) or, as they are called, "Tajik Taliban", who have been put on the international wanted list by the official Dushanbe, have been sent to Shakhribuzurg. Ansorullah militants under the command of Mahdi Arsalan recently left the territory of the Afghan Darwaz. It was reported that the Taliban leadership had transferred them to Faizabad, the administrative center of Afghan Badakhshan.
"The Taliban defiantly transferred the militants of the Ansorullah group from Darwaz to Faizabad to demonstrate their trustworthiness to the Tajik authorities. However, we have learned that 130 militants of Mahdi Arsalan from Faizabad were immediately transported to Shakhribuzurg. Another 70 militants of the group were stationed in the Afghan Shugnan," a source in the Border Guard Department of Tajikistan said.
