Moscow. October 19. INTERFAX - Iran is not yet ready to create a military bloc with Russia, but they do not rule out such a possibility in the future, Iranian Chief of the General Staff Mohammad Bagheri said.
"Of course, we will develop military cooperation, and in the future we may come to this, but so far our relations have not reached such a stage," Bagheri said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 TV channel (VGTRK), answering a question about the prospects of creating a joint military bloc of Russia and Iran.
He also said that Iran and Russia are planning to conclude an agreement that involves military cooperation, the purchase of weapons and the fight against terrorism. A similar 25-year agreement was concluded with China, Bagheri added.
