Moscow. October 18. INTERFAX-AVN - CSTO forces have started three special exercises in Tajikistan, the joint press center of maneuvers reported.
"We pay special attention to the Central Asian region. The main source of instability is the situation inside and around the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. That is why, for the first time in the framework of joint training, we are conducting three exercises simultaneously," said the head of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, whose words are given in the message.
On Monday, the exercises Echelon-2021, Search-2021 and Interaction-2021 started at the Harbmaydon training ground in Tajikistan.
"The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan, Lieutenant General Emomali Sobirzoda, welcoming the participants of the exercises, noted that the situation in the Central Asian region against the background of events taking place in Afghanistan remains difficult and tends to worsen," the press center reported.
According to the report, a total of 4 thousand people and more than 500 pieces of equipment are involved in the exercises.
