The LPD-801 radio-electronic rifle was presented in Russia. A device for jamming the control channels of drones was demonstrated at the International Exhibition of Weapons and Hunting Goods ORELEXPO-2021. This is reported by TASS.
The LPD-801 rifle was developed by specialists of the PPSH Laboratory company. The mass of the device is 3.5 kilograms, which is comparable to a Kalashnikov assault rifle. The layout of the electronic warfare rifle is also similar to traditional weapons. So, the antenna of the device is made in the shape of a trunk, and a replaceable battery is located in place of the store.
The characteristics of the LPD-801 make it possible to resist drones at a distance of up to 1.5 kilometers. The device is designed to jam the control and navigation channels of unmanned vehicles. According to the manufacturer, the LPD-801 batch was purchased by the United Arab Emirates.
Earlier, Turkey presented a kamikaze drone Fedai. The device will become an element of the system of protection against attacks by strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The drone can hit enemy drones within a radius of 40 meters.
