KIEV, Oct 15 - RIA Novosti. The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has approved the country's information security strategy, NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov said.
"There have been heated discussions about this strategy. We are talking about the situation of information security. You know that we are in a difficult situation regarding the aggression of the Russian Federation and it is not only on the front, but also on the information front, they use the media to influence our country and our people. Such a strategy was considered and adopted today at a meeting of the NSDC," Danilov said at a briefing on Friday.
At the same time, he did not report on what provisions are contained in this strategy.
Russia has repeatedly stated that it is not going to attack anyone, and statements about the "aggression of the Russian Federation" are used as an excuse to place more NATO military equipment near the Russian borders. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian threat is "an invention of those who want to cash in on their role as the vanguard of the fight against Russia, to receive some bonuses and preferences for it."
Relations between Moscow and Kiev have deteriorated against the background of the situation in the Donbas and with Crimea, which became part of the Russian Federation as a result of the referendum. The Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly accused Russia of interfering in the internal affairs of the country. Russia denies the accusations of the Ukrainian side and calls them unacceptable. Moscow has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the internal Ukrainian conflict and is interested in Kiev overcoming the political and economic crisis.
