MOSCOW, Oct 13 - RIA Novosti. Terrorists are already creating their own cyber units, this can, for example, lead to acute interstate conflicts up to armed clashes, said Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev at a meeting of special services in Moscow.
"Terrorists are already creating their own cyber units. At the same time, we see a particular danger in the difficulty of timely establishing the true source of the attack, which can, for example, lead to acute interstate conflicts up to armed clashes," Patrushev said.
He explained that epidemiological restrictions imposed in a number of States stimulated the transition of terrorists and criminals to a wider use of various software tools and Internet technologies. The spread of hacker groups increases the risks of computer attacks on critical infrastructure.
In addition, NATO countries are also intensively developing offensive information potential, including the development of artificial intelligence technologies, the implementation of the concept of proactive cyber defense and the creation of specialized coalition formations designed to conduct offensive cyber operations.
"Such activities require constant attention from us and a timely proportional response," the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation said.
