Also, the press secretary of the service, Valeria Reshetnikova, said that military-technical cooperation with Afghanistan is not being carried out at the moment
MOSCOW, October 10. /TASS/. The Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation is not engaged in copying any American equipment, including those left by US forces in Afghanistan. This was announced to TASS on Sunday by the press secretary of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) of Russia, Valeria Reshetnikova.
In August 2021, former US President Donald Trump expressed the opinion that Russia and China, due to the unorganized US withdrawal from Afghanistan, would gain access to abandoned American equipment, which is now in the hands of the radical Taliban movement (banned in the Russian Federation).
"Any speculation that our specialists may even be involved in copying any American technology has no grounds," she said.
According to her, military-technical cooperation with Afghanistan is not being carried out at the moment.
Earlier, the head of the FSMTC Dmitry Shugaev expressed concern about the number of weapons left by the United States in Afghanistan, where the Taliban movement seized power. According to the information provided to them, the Americans left more than 100 helicopters, 22 thousand armored vehicles and 176 artillery installations.
