Moscow. October 8th. INTERFAX - The Kremlin has stated that it is interested in resuming close relations with the European Union.
"The Russian principle of relations with Brussels is quite simple: we are interested in thawing these relations. We were not the initiator of the curtailment of work and are interested in unfreezing," Russian Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said, answering a question from journalists whether Moscow is ready to outline its principles of relations with the EU, as Brussels did earlier with regard to the Russian Federation.
"We believe that we have a lot of topics for mutual discussion," the Kremlin representative stressed.
The press secretary of the head of state complained at the same time about the bipolarity in the position of the European Union in relations with Moscow. "We sometimes find it difficult to perceive such bipolar formulations, where at the same time we are talking about deterrence and building a dialogue. Because in this case, we do not have this bipolarity," Peskov said.
