US military instructors have been conducting secret activities in Taiwan for more than a year in order to strengthen its defense capabilities. This was reported on Thursday, October 7, by The Wall Street Journal.
According to the publication, two dozen American special forces and support troops are training small units of the land forces of Taiwan. At the same time, the US Marine Corps is working with local naval forces, helping them with training.

The publication clarifies that Beijing has been building up its armed forces for years and threatened to take control of Taipei by force if necessary. Such sentiments of China greatly worried US officials, The HILL adds.
On the eve of Taiwan's Defense Minister Qiu Guozheng said that Beijing will have every opportunity for a full-scale invasion of Taiwan by 2025.
This statement was caused by the fact that the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) has sent a total of almost 150 military aircraft to the shores of Taiwan since October 1.
On October 2, the Chinese Air Force carried out a mass flight to the waters of Taiwan, breaking its own record for the number of aircraft involved. 39 air transport units took part in the operation.
On October 6, the President of the United States Joe Biden said that he had discussed Taiwan with the President of the People's Republic of China (PRC) Xi Jinping. Biden said that both sides continue to comply with the agreement on Taiwan.
