Director of the Institute of Strategic Planning Alexander Gusev commented on Sputnik radio on the calls of Russian diplomats to the United States to destroy chemical weapons.
The Russian Embassy in Washington called on the United States to destroy its chemical weapons as soon as possible.
The diplomats' comments on Facebook say that Russia is an adherent of the Chemical weapons Convention, in 2017 "destroyed all national stocks of chemical warfare agents, which is documented by the OPCW."The United States remains the only country that has not done so.
"We call on Washington to complete the chemical demilitarization program as soon as possible and fulfill international obligations, securing the world from the potential use of this type of weapon," the diplomats wrote.
The embassy also rejected the accusations related to the alleged use of chemical weapons by Russian special services, noting that all this is accompanied by an "aggressive propaganda campaign" against Russia.
Earlier, the State Department said that the United States and 44 other countries sent Russia a list of questions about the incident with blogger Alexei Navalny and are waiting for an answer within 10 days.
On Sputnik radio, Doctor of Political Sciences, Director of the Institute of Strategic Planning Alexander Gusev noted that Russia, unlike the United States, has fulfilled all its obligations.
He noted that the United States also applies the practice of double standards on this issue.
